Policy Changes / Clarifications

• The policies on withdrawal and reinstatement have changed for students who withdraw from Oberlin to transfer to another institution and later wish to return to Oberlin.

Effective fall 2024, students will no longer be able to declare these programs. Students who declared these programs prior to fall 2024 may complete them.

New Course Attributes

• Undergraduate Research Intensive (URI)
  • Courses with the new pedagogical course attribute URI offer students the opportunity to engage in research while receiving course credit and are often incorporated into the formal curriculum of their major. Students should expect URI courses to provide exposure to how knowledge is produced in their discipline and experience with the methodology that produces this knowledge.
